1. RBI issued direction on implementation of Gold Monetisation Scheme 2015 Directions on implementation of GMS 2015
• For whom: Resident Indians (Individuals, HUF, Trusts including Mutual Funds/Exchange Traded Funds registered under SEBI (Mutual Fund) Regulations and Companies) can make deposits under the scheme.
• Mini Limit: The minimum deposit at any one time shall be raw gold (bars, coins, jewellery excluding stones and other metals) equivalent to 30 grams of gold of 995 fineness.
Max Limit: There is no maximum
limit for deposit under the scheme.

1. Japan offers soft loan to India for bullet train project
• Japan has offered soft loan of 15
billion dollars (Rs 90,000 crore) at an interest rate of less than 1 per cent to India’s ambitious first bullet train project viz. Mumbai-Ahmedabad high speed rail corridor along with technology.
• In this regard, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) has submitted its report to the Union Railway Ministry. In its report JICA has envisaged a reduction in the travel time on the 505-km long corridor between the two western cities to 2 hours from the existing period of over 7 hours.

1. Cabinet approved agreement
between India and Egypt on Maritime Transport
• The Union Cabinet chaired by
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has given its approval for signing of an agreement between India and Egypt on Maritime Transport.
• Recognizing the significant mutual benefit that can be derived from- cooperation in the area of shipping between the two countries, it has been decided to sign the Agreement with a view to strengthening cooperation and to render sustained mutual assistance and advice on merchant shipping and other related maritime matters.

1. Government divides Maharashtra and Gujarat Naval Areas into two Separate Headquarters
• Union Ministry of Defence has divided erstwhile Maharashtra and
Gujarat (MnG) Naval Area into two separate headquarters in order to enhance operational and administrative organizational structure.
• They have been divided under Flag Officer Maharashtra Area and Flag Officer Gujarat Naval Area. The division will help For better vigilance on the sea border with Pakistan In better communication and coordination with the respective state governments, local authorities and fishermen.
2. No copyright exists on Title of
literary work: Supreme Court
• The Supreme Court in its judgment held that no copyright exists on the title of a literary work. The ruling was made by a bench comprising Justices MB Lokur and SA Bobde.
• The bench passed the order on an appeal filed by Krishika Lulla and others against an order of the
Bombay High Court which refused to quash a complaint filed by writer Shyam Vithalrao Devkatta.

1. India-China Joint Exercise Hand-
in-Hand 2015 concludes in Kunming.
• India-China Joint Military Training Exercise Hand in Hand 2015 concluded at Kunming Military Academy in Yunnan province of China.
• It was fifth edition of the exercise between the two countries which had started on 12 October 2015. The 12 day exercise concluded with a Joint Field Exercise between armies

2. NASA completes key milestone for most powerful rocket.
• For the first time in almost 40
years, NASA has completed all steps needed to clear a critical design review (CDR) for the most powerful rocket ever built that will take humans to deeper space missions, including Mars.
• The agency’s Space Launch System (SLS) is the first vehicle designed to meet the challenges of the journey to Mars and the first exploration class rocket since the Saturn V. SLS will launch America into a new era of exploration to destinations beyond Earth’s orbit.
3. ISRO to launch six Singapore made satellites in December
• India will launch six Singapore- made satellites, including a dedicated 400 kg spacecraft for
carrying out surveillance missions for maritime and border security, in mid-December on board PSLV-C29.
