3. Delhi police has launched women safety mobile application ‘Himmat’. It was launched by the Union home minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi.

4. Beji Caid Essebsi  was sworn in as the President of Tunisia. He became the first freely elected leader of Tunisia since it gained independence from France in 1956.

5. French economist Thomas Piketty has turned down France’s top award, the Legion D’Honneur .
6. The President Pranab Mukherjee signed National Judicial Appointments Commission Bill, 2014. With this, National Judicial Appointments Commission Act, 2014 has come into effect.
7. Former Minister of State (MoS) for External Affairs Kamala Sinhapassed away in Syracuse, New York in US. She was 82.
