India defeated Pakistan to won Kabaddi World Cup

On 20th December 2014, Indian Men Team as well as Indian women team won Kabaddi World Cup title. Indian men team defeated Pakistan men team by 45-42 for the fourth time to clinch the title. 
Indian women team defeated New Zealand by 36-27 for the second time in a row to bag the title. 
Winning team got Rs 2 crore money and First runners up got Rs 1 Crore team.

Rajinder Khanna appointed as new RAW Chief

Among the important appointments, On 20th December 2014, Mr. Rajinder Khanna was appointed as new RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) chief. At the time of appointment he was Special Secretary in RAW. 
The Appointments Committee of Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared the name of Mr. Rajinder Khanna who is a 1978 batch RAS cadre. He will be succeeding Mr. Alok Joshi who is retiring on 31st December 2014.

Atletico de Kolkata won inaugural season of ISL by beating Kerala Blasters by 1-0

On 20th December 2014, Atletico de Kolkata won inaugural season of ISL by beating Kerala Blasters by 1-0. Final was held in D.Y. Patil stadium Mumbai, Maharashtra, India which was fully packed with fans from both teams to witness the final match.

Golden Boot went to Elano Blumer in ISL

Chennaiyin FC's Elano Blumer clinched Golden Boot in inaugural season of ISL. He scored eight goals in 11 matches to get this award. 
Golden Glove award went to FC Goa's goalkeeper Jan Seda for 40 saves/ seven clean sheets in 14 matches.



Richard rahul verma Sworn in as US Ambssador to India

i. Indian-American Richard Rahul Verma has been sworn in as the US Ambassador to India by Secretary of State John Kerry.
ii. 46-year-old Verma is the first ever Indian-American to be the top US diplomat in New Delhi.
iii. He was confirmed by the US Senate by a voice vote last week. Last week he met Obama at the White House.
iv. He will replace Nancy Powell, who resigned in March after a damaging row over the treatment of diplomat Devyani Khobragade over visa fraud charges.
