   1. The Delhi Police has entered the Limca Book of Records on January 2, 2016, for solving a  robbery case in November 2015. As per reports, this is the biggest case of cash recovery in the  country's crime history.

   2. RBI has imposed a penalty of Rs. One Crore on State Bank of Travancore because of violation  of some of RBI's instructions including violation of instructions of Central Repository of    Information  on Large Credits (CRILC).

   3. India-Nepal friendship bus service resumes after gap of 27 years

   4. Pranav Dhanawade, who has broken a century-old cricketing record on Monday, became the first  batsman to score 1000-plus runs in an innings in any form of cricket. Batting against Arya Gurukul  School in a Bhandari Cup match, Pranav reached 1000 runs in just 323 balls on Tuesday.

  11. The Ministry of Shipping is all set to launch the River Information System (RIS) for the inland  waterways in India. The information system aims to improve the navigational capability in the inland  waterways, as the central government is ready to expand the river network across the country under  the provisions of the National Waterways Bill, 2015.

  12. Filippo Grandi, a UN official who has worked in refugee and political affairs in the Middle East,  Africa, and Asia, began his five-year term as UN High Commissioner for Refugees on January 1,    succeeding António Guterres whose more than 10 years in office ended last week
