The government will infuse Rs. 60 crore in IFCI Ltd. to make it a Government Company.The Union Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, approved the infusion of RS. 60 crore by way of acquisition of preference shares from existing share holder(s) in Industrial Finance Corporation of India (IFCI)Ltd. to make it a Government company.

4. The Union Cabinet has given its nod to an Ordinance regarding DelhiLaws (Special Provisions) Amendment Bill, 2014.It seeks to extend the cut-off date for regularisation of illegal colonies from March 2002 to June 2014 in Delhi.

5. 16 States have ratified the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) Bill, 2014. The information related to this was revealed by Union Ministry of Law and Justice on 28 December 2014.

6. Noted educationist and former Vice Chancellor of the Aligarh Muslim University Saiyid Hamid died on 29 December 2014 following a prolonged illness. He was 94.

7. Kerala government has laid foundation stone for the first government-run ‘Kalagramam’i.e Global Artist village in the country at Kakkananpara in Kannur district of Kerala.The foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
